Making Denuncias to the Guardia Civil.

As you will no doubt be aware, the free translator who was helping foreigners at the Guardia Civil Cuartel at Torre de la Horadada has been withdrawn. He may return in July for six months.

However, any person wishing to make a denuncia will need to take a translator with them to the Cuartel or the Office in the Ayuntamiento at Playa Flamenca or can do so by contacting the Policia Nacional Office in Madrid by e-mail or phone. They can make it in their own language but have to go to their Station in either Alicante or Orihuela to sign it.

You will also know that I have been in correspondence with the Coronel Teniente, the head of the Guardia Civil forAlicante Provence. In his last letter he has informed me that there is a free translator at the Guardia Civil Cuartel at Torrevieja in Calle Patricia Zammit, Tel 96 571 0113 on most days. From past experience it is been found that the use of this translator and Cuartel for the purpose of receiving denuncias has been restricted to crimes committed in Torrevieja only. I am informed by Officers that denuncias in relation to crimes committed within the Orihuela Costa can also be made there.

In order to make a denuncia in this way it will be necessary for the victim to visit the Cuartel there where an appointment will be made for the victim to make the denuncia with the assistance of the translator.
